For the Cause is an online portal that aims to promote needy causes, such as NGO’s and NPO’s in South Africa. The website was started in April 2008 and has become one of South Africa’s most popular charity portals. It provides a platform for needy causes to advertise their mission, needs and events. It also provides a platform for volunteers to advertise the time and skills they have to offer to help causes in need. The site also provides charity related information, news and events. For the Cause is not a registered NGO/NPO and therefore accepts no financial support. Assistance is always welcomed though to promote the website and also to provide relevant content.

Our Mission

Our mission is to use the internet as a platform to provide exposure to needy causes in South Africa and also to assist volunteers with advertising their services. The outcome of this will be to get needy causes and volunteers in touch with each other. For the Cause also aims to provide information on charities, and promote campaigns to assist with various causes. The overall objective of the portal is to make a positive difference to causes in need.
